I bought this tent on special for @ $20 for the purpose of motorcycling touring. Tent is built to a price so do not pay full price for this tent. On sale its reasonable value.
Buy this tent when its on special and don't look back..
I have 2, both purchased when they were on sale for @ $20.
Pros: Easy to setup, even when you are dead-tired at the end of the day.
good ventilation, good head room for a 2 man tent.
reasonably water-proof; fair room inside for one medium guy and his gear.
Cons: fibreglass poles split during a storm; pegs are soft and don't always work in hard ground.
And yes, its a challenge to get this tent and fly packed up when its soggy with dew.
However - for under $20 its way cheaper than trying to make one yourself. Jmc
We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our Spinifex Hawkesbury tent. If you would like to discuss the matter further please feel free to contact our Customer Care Centre on 1300 558 990, or alternatively you can visit your local store.
This is a good size 2 person tent. I am 190cm ( 6'3'') and lying straight on my back on my king single self inflating mattress I fit in just fine, with my head just touching the inside end wall (Note: you can only fit one king single in the tent, two narrower mattresses are OK). Can fit 2 adults easily, could probably sleep 3 if necessary. Seems quite well made. I had absolutely no trouble getting it back into the bag, you just need to fold into 4 and roll up. At about 2kg would make a reasonable 2 person hiking tent. I got mine for $25 which is an absolute bargain.
Normally $ 50 but on special for 25!
Who wants a swag when you can buy this but, unless you love them, its a 1 person swag/tent!
You can tell it is built to a price but that is what makes it perfect. It will give you some protection from the elements and mozzies!
I agree the bag is too small (but they all are) and the pegs thin.
I am 172cm and no complaints and will buy another one in a heartbeat
1) Cheap, quick & easy, perfect 1 person swag (aka tent!)
2) If you want "bigger and better" then pay extra for it but this wont disappoint
NOT AN ADULT TENT
This tent is too small for an adult to sleep comfortably in. I'm 5'7 and my feet were hard pressed against one end of the tent and my face was in the zippers at the other. There were other problems too. One tent peg bent when pushed in by hand. The outer lining of the tent seemed to be too small to reach each corner of the inner
The final and perhaps most annoying issue was that it was pretty well impossible to fit the tent back into the bag provided, even when I tried for about 20 mins. Resigned to carrying the outer lining and pegs separately in my pack.
Would try to get a refund but no doubt this would be impossible since is used.
I had bought a different tent from another store that was $60 down from $80 and it was big, heavy and very hard to set up :(
I took it back and got a refund, I then saw this tent for $25 on sale and I fell in love. When packed away it was small, compact and light. Set up was a piece of cake and it's big to fit in. Fits me, my gear and some extra room!
If it wasn't on sale I would've still been amazed with the $50 dollar price. Heck, I would of been amazed with it being $70!!
Absolutely recommend it for beginners or quick get-awayers!
This is a great little tent, easy to set up, compact and light but quite spacious inside! It's also cheap which makes it even better! Already buying 3 more for a Scout unit!
Top little tent for a quick getaway.
- 2 min to pitch once we cleared away the branches
- 'T' door access easy to zip up with confidence of no insects
- Sturdy in the wind and rain.
- Plenty of room for 2 adults (one 6'/180cm)
- Designed to spend most time outdoors. Always bring a pack of cards in case of rain.
We setup in a local National Park and took a few days to traverse a well known track. At one point we were half running to get to the campsite as the first signs of rain were falling. One of us cleared away the branches from the ground and the other got the tent out. Easy to setup with 2 poles. Fly up next, open door, packs in, we're in, zip up, and the heavens opened. That's a real measure of how good a tent is... simple and quick!
We did some day trekking and walked out a couple of days later. Great fun!
